Case Study

Stuart Howard Architects

I collaborated with Stuart Howard Architects to design and develop a modern, visually impactful website that showcases their extensive portfolio of architectural projects. The client’s vision for a “large-image scrolling site” was brought to life, putting their stunning work front and center. By focusing on high-quality visuals and a clean, functional design, the website not only highlights their expertise but also provides an intuitive and seamless user experience. Over five months, I worked closely with their team to ensure the final product aligned perfectly with their goals and made it easy to maintain and update their growing portfolio.

Before

The previous website faced several challenges, with many links not functioning properly and images loading inconsistently. These issues were largely due to the site being outdated and missing some essential information. Project pages, while showcasing primary images, often lacked additional visuals to tell a complete story. Additionally, the site’s maintenance process was cumbersome, making it difficult to keep content fresh and add new projects regularly.

After

The redesigned website transformed the user experience into one that is modern, seamless, and visually engaging. Every link now works flawlessly, and images load quickly, ensuring that visitors can explore the site without frustration. The updated design highlights each project with a full gallery of high-quality visuals, allowing users to appreciate the details and craftsmanship behind the work.

The site is now easy to maintain, with a streamlined backend that simplifies the process of adding new projects and updating content. This ensures the website stays fresh and current, reflecting the client’s ongoing efforts and achievements. Overall, the new site not only showcases the client’s work in the best possible light but also enhances their ability to connect with their audience and grow their business.

Every project page is designed to offer an engaging and immersive experience for visitors. It features a masonry grid layout that elegantly displays project images in a visually appealing and organized way, ensuring the architecture takes center stage. Each project is seamlessly connected to others with intuitive navigation links to previous and next projects, encouraging users to explore more of the portfolio.

To enhance the user experience further, the project pages include an integrated lightbox gallery. This allows visitors to click on any image and view it in full-screen mode, offering a closer and more detailed look at the projects’ craftsmanship and design elements. The lightbox gallery also supports smooth transitions between images, making it easy to navigate through the entire collection without leaving the page.

This thoughtful combination of design and functionality ensures that visitors can fully appreciate the depth and beauty of each project while maintaining a streamlined and user-friendly browsing experience.
